I’m sure at some point in your life you’ve seen a Greyhound chase a rabbit around a race track. They run as fast as they can in pursuit of this rabbit, but do they ever catch it?
It is always just out of reach. You’d think the dogs would give up after the 3rd, 10th, or even the 50th time chasing it.
But they never do.
Every single time they see that rabbit they run as hard and as fast as they can to get to it.
This is how many of us live our lives in the pursuit of fulfillment. We set goals thinking that once we achieve them we will be truly happy and fulfilled… but we aren’t.
So we set another goal with the same intentions. And then another and another. We spend our lives in this never-ending pursuit, setting and achieving goals in order to become fulfilled and happy, yet just like the rabbit, it seems to be just out of reach.
The goal is not to catch the rabbit. The goal is not to become a millionaire. The goal is not to have a 6-pack. It’s time to shift the narrative. Rather than achieving to be happy, let’s shift into the practice of happily achieving.
In this episode of the Rock Your Money, Rock Your Life podcast, I talk about why so many of us are constantly chasing the “white rabbit”, how we are chemically addicted at a cellular level to our behaviors good or bad, and what the 4 levels of consciousness are.
“When you do the things that bring you back into connection with the universal power that’s available, you don’t have to work so hard.” – Rock Thomas
“Be kind to yourself. Really truly be kind to yourself. And when you find yourself judging yourself it’s probably because you also judge others. And you judge others in order to protect yourself.” – Rock Thomas
